The Weslaco All Star City Band will hold its first meeting on May 28 at the Gene Braught Memorial Theater at 7:00pm.  This first meeting is to recruit musicians who are interested in joining the band.  Ed Ramirez, the leader of the band, is looking for experienced players who can read, music-interpret, and enjoys playing for audiences.   Mr. Ramirez is looking for musicians that can play trumpet, trombone, saxephones, keyboard, bass, and a drummer.  A guitar player may possibly be recruited as well.  All musicians will be auditioned at a later date.  This first meeting is to start the process.  DO not bring instruments.  All citizens over the age of 18 years of age are welcome.  The theater is located at 525 Kansas Ave.

Cinco De Mayo Celebration

Join us at the Weslaco City Park to celebrate 5 de Mayo and Mother's Day on Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Festival will consist of live entertainment, professional wrestling, food vendors, and free kiddie rides.
Weslaco Public Library

The library complex includes a two-story main building in the Spanish style with a media center. The two sections are joined by a shady courtyard featuring a fountain and tropical plantings. Designed by Weslaco architect, Gene P. Hobart. The interior stairway is decorated with terracotta and blue Mexican tile in the talavera pattern.

The Weslaco EDC is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the creation of jobs through recruitment of new industry and helping existing companies relocate and/or expand. Our objective is job creation and adding wealth to the community.
