The Weslaco Police Department along with partnering agencies worked together to dismantle a Valley-wide theft ring connected to $2 million in thefts. Three suspects were arraigned in Edinburg on Monday, April 25, and will also be charged in connection to thefts that occurred in Weslaco. The organized crime ring targeted heavy machinery, construction equipment, vehicles, and other items across several cities.

The stolen items were recovered due to the hard investigative work of the Weslaco Police Department in collaboration with the Edinburg Police Department, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, Pharr Police Department, McAllen Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
