Weslaco hosts active shooter training for community

Run. Hide. Fight.

This is one concept taught during today's active shooter training at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.

The Weslaco Police Department and Weslaco Fire Department joined the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office to train faith leaders, school personnel, business owners, and community members in best practices.

Thank you to all who spent their Saturday preparing and learning with us! We appreciate senior Deputy Ricardo Garcia for sharing his knowledge with the community, making us much better prepared to handle a critical incident.
