The former City Hall, designed by prominent local architect R. Newell Waters, was built in 1928 at the corner of Kansas Avenue and Fifth Street, where the original Community House once stood. Actively used now as Fire Station #2, the building displays Spanish colonial style detailing, including an entry way adorned with intricate, cast stone sculpture and an interior stairway decorated with colorful, geometric Spanish tile. The Texas Historical Landmark recorded this building in 1978.

The current City Hall, conveniently located at the centerpoint of town at the intersection of Business 83 and Texas Boulevard/FM 88, is a renovated grocery store, acquired and remodeled in 2005. In addition to the Legislative Chambers, it houses the administrative offices for the Mayor, City Manager, City Secretary, and City Attorney, as well as the departments of Finance, Purchasing, Human Resources, and Planning and Code Enforcement.
