Water Conservation Ordinance in Effect

Weslaco, Texas, October 12, 2023 – Mandatory water conservation has been declared as the water level in the reservoirs have reached 25%.

The following regulations are to be followed:
Irrigation will be permitted once every seven days from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
Home addresses with the last digit as an odd number will be allowed to water on Tuesdays.
Home addresses with last digit as an even number will be allowed to water on Thursdays.

Permitted any day:
Handheld hose or drip irrigation
Commercial nurseries or sod farms
Washing of all wheeled vehicles is allowed only by handheld bucket.
Commercial or automatic car wash establishment shall use minimum practical water settings.
Adding water to swimming pools permitted only on irrigation days.
Ornamental Fountains with recycling systems are permitted. All other fountains are not permitted.

You must:
• Prevent water from overflowing or spilling into a gutter or drain.
• Repair controllable water leaks inside and outside your house or business.
• Sweep, rather than hose off, all paved areas.
