The mayor of Weslaco, Adrian Gonzalez, and the mayor of Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Joel Eduardo Yańez Villegas formally met to affirm their communities' bond as Sister Cities. The officials discussed the growth of the border region in Progreso, Rio Bravo and Weslaco. The needs of the people of both cities was discussed, and how the cities can work together to bring commerce to both areas. Both mayors also relayed how we can support each other throughout the year and how to create thriving communities that inspire children of the region to be proud of and serve the City of Weslaco and Rio Bravo, respectively.
