For over 15 years, First Baptist Church has been a beacon of hope in the City of Weslaco, offering refuge to residents during floods, hurricanes, the Covid pandemic, and freezes. Led by the compassionate guidance of Pastor Steven Parker, the church has stood as a steadfast symbol of support and humanitarian aid, dedicating their time, resources, and empathy to ensure that no member of our community faces hardship alone.

In recognition of their exceptional commitment, Mayor Adrian Gonzalez, alongside the Weslaco City Commission, declared March 5th, 2024, as “First Baptist Church Shelter Appreciation Day” in our city.
